Billing Specialist

Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $18.75 - $23.00 per hour. Full time, non-exempt, benefits eligible. Responsibilities:  The primary responsibility of the AR Billing Specialist will be to provide financial support activity related to client accounts. 

  Specific duties include but not limited to: 

  • Provide insurance claiming, billing, payment posting, and payment denial follow up as assigned
  • Entering data into the EHR as assigned 
  • Speak with clients regarding their account balance and payment plan development and compliance
  • Answer incoming client phone calls with questions on account balances
  • Complete all paperwork associated with the financial and legal aspects of the case or the Center's operations in a timely manner
  • Provide assistance with the evolution of an effective, efficient preventative program of services
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances warrant
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job


Qualifications:  The Billing Specialist position requires but not limited to:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of standard Medical Billing procedures and practices required
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health billing procedures and practices preferred
  • Knowledge of CMHC and CCBHC billing procedures preferred
  • Familiar with computer systems including MS Office and Outlook
  • Ability to work with Commercial and Government Insurances and contacts
  • Knowledge of CPT/HCPC's/Rev/ICD-10 codes and their applications
  • Able to work Monday through Friday as scheduled
