Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually. Full time, exempt, benefits eligible. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of The Mobile Response Team Therapist will serve as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) by providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for behavioral health issues. This role requires proactive multitasking and coordination. The clinician must embrace Bert Nash's mission to advance the health of the Douglas County community through comprehensive behavioral health services responsive to evolving needs and changing environments. We fulfill this mission by responding to needs, restoring lives, and building a healthy community. The qualified candidate will have a strong desire to provide intensive crisis intervention services to the community, be well versed in suicide and safety assessments, be willing to strongly advocate for the best interests of the clients we serve and have a strong passion for public services. Specific duties include but not limited to:

• The Therapist will respond as a part of team in the community to prevent more intrusive and restrictive levels of care.
• Conducting screening assessment interviews including a mental status, assessment of suicidal/homicidal risk, and an evaluation of whether this individual meets the inpatient psychiatric admission criteria.
• Providing crisis counseling and determining as a matter of course, whether the client would benefit by referral to outpatient services as an alternative to hospitalization.
• Conducting Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medicaid, Reform, Juvenile Justice Center, and Douglas County Jail Screens as requested.

Qualifications include but not limited to:

• The highest terminal academic degree in the fields of clinical or counseling psychology, clinical social work, or psychiatric nursing
• Expertise in diagnosis, evaluation, treatment planning and service delivery.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
• A minimum of two years' experience in an outpatient mental health setting (or similar setting) providing screening, psychiatric evaluation, crisis/emergency service, and diagnosis.
• Reliable transportation; and a valid, unrestricted driver's license
• Testifying in Court when involuntary hospitalization is required to assure safety. Completion of all paperwork associated with the screening conducted.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances warrant.
