WRAP Therapist - School Based

Salary is commensurate with experience within a range of $57,000 to $68,000. This position is full-time, salaried, exempt and eligible for our benefits. A.  Responsibilities and Duties:  Working a school-based calendar, the primary responsibility of the WRAP Therapist will be to provide prevention, education outreach and clinical activities to at-risk children attending Douglas County public schools and their families designed to enhance youth success in school. 

Specific duties include:

1.  Assigned to one or more schools for the provision of behavioral health services as part of the educational team at each school.

2.  A member of their school(s)'s mental health team and expected to be a regular attendee at meetings.

3.  providing high quality direct services, including crisis intervention, therapeutic interventions, assessment, support services, intakes, and follow up to at-risk children and adolescents and their families.

4.  screening, referral, and case management to help youth access relevant services.

5.  coordinating intervention strategies with school personnel and other team members;

6.  coordinating ongoing tasks of team members and maintaining compliance withgrant requirements.

7.  maintaining data and documentation to track outcome measures and compiling outcome measure reports.

8.  coordination and collaboration with other child serving systems including but not limited to juvenile justice systems.

9.  supervising practicum students.

10.  participating in public information and public relations activities and serving as a community liaison and advocate for mental health and the Bert Nash Center and their host school district.

11.  completing all paperwork associated with the financial, clinical, legal, or regulatory management of the case or BNC operations in a timely and accurate manner;

12.  assisting with the evolution of an effective, efficient preventative program of services;

13.  regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job; and

14.  assuming additional responsibilities as circumstances warrant.

B.  Accountability:  the WRAP Therapist will be directly accountable to the WRAP Program Manager or his/her designee. The WRAP Therapist will work primarily a school calendar year schedule, based on the schedule of the assigned building, school district and BNC. The WRAP Program Manager or his/her designee will, quarterly, complete a performance evaluation in compliance with personnel policies.

C.  Qualifications:  the WRAP Therapist position requires:

1.  a master's degree in counselling, psychology or social work and Kansas license in one of these disciplines; experience working with juveniles and families preferred;

2.  experience in clinical interventions with juveniles and families, including crisis intervention;

3.  experience in working with school personnel and in school settings;

4.  basic computer fluency;

5.  an ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;

6.  strong organizational skills;

7.  strong oral written communication skills in all circumstances;

8.  strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse groups;

9.  flexibility in assigned working hours;

10.  a commitment to interdisciplinary and community mental health center approaches; and

11.  an energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex work-place.


Bert Nash Center requires proof of Covid-19 immunization prior to starting any position. Covid-19 vaccine series must be completed or in process to be cleared for new hire orientation.
