Staff Accountant
Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $30.00 to $34.00 per hour. Full time, non-exempt, benefits eligible. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Staff Accountant is to report directly to the Senior Finance Manager supporting them and the Director of Administration and Finance in the day to day accounting transactions of the center as well as financial reporting and analysis. Specific duties include but not limited to:
- Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with the monthly close process.
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with the recording of revenue, cash receipts, and receivable accounts including providing support to the billing department.
- Assist with the processing and recording of invoices, accruals, prepaids, and payments to vendors.
- Assist and support the payroll function.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and planning process and provide in-depth insight on the identification, explanation, and correction of variances as appropriate.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly or annual reconciliations for organizational assets and liabilities.
- Assist with financial audit as well as accounting and reporting for grant programs.
- Ensuring compliance to GAAP.
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications: The Staff Accountant position requires but not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in health care setting.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- High level of trust and dependability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Team player, adaptable.
