The primary responsibility of the Medical Billing / Accounts Receivable Manager will be to manage billing, collections and system maintenance related to Accounts Receivable in a manner that expedites efficient and timely reimbursement and enhances client relations.  

Some specific duties include:

  • Coordinate the financial support activity for all facets of the client relationship
  • Keeping self and staff current regarding Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance provisions/regulations
  • Managing application of claiming, payments, denials, rebilling and all facets of the Electronic Health Record system as it relates to accounts receivable.
  • Acting as the Center resource regarding billing and collection issues; Review accounts for referral to outside collection agencies and process as needed.
  • Providing supervision to A/R staff; including time management
  • Assist the Director of Administration and Finance/Finance Manager in analyzing and trending accounts receivable;
  • Preparing Accounts Receivable reports 


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, management or health management field or equivalent knowledge.
  • 3-5 years' experience in commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare claims processing
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures;
  • 2-3 years office supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with computerized billing and accounts receivable systems and internet transactions; must be able to achieve within one's first 6 months of employment a working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic medical record (EMR) software as demonstrated by timely and accurate documentation of the clinical record;
