Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist

Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $19.00 - $21.50 per hour. Full time, non-exempt, benefits eligible. A. Responsibilities and Duties: The primary responsibility of the AR Billing Specialist will be to provide financial support activity related to client accounts.

Specific duties include:

1. Provide insurance claiming, billing, payment posting, and payment denial follow up as assigned

2. Entering data into the EHR as assigned

3. Speak with clients regarding their account balance and payment plan development and compliance

4. Answer incoming client phone calls with questions on account balances

5. Complete all paperwork associated with the financial and legal aspects of the case or the Center's operations in a timely manner

6. Provide assistance with the evolution of an effective, efficient preventative program of services

7. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances warrant

8. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job

9. Work closely with providers and other teams to achieve Center goals.

B. Accountability: The AR Billing Specialist will be directly accountable to the AR Manager or his/her designee. The AR Manager or his/her designee will, no less than annually, complete a performance evaluation in compliance with personnel policies.

C. Qualifications: The Billing Specialist position requires:

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Knowledge of standard Medical Billing procedures and practices required

3. Knowledge of Behavioral Health billing procedures and practices preferred

4. Knowledge of CMHC and CCBHC billing procedures preferred

5. Familiar with computer systems including MS Office and Outlook

6. Ability to work with Commercial and Government Insurances and contacts

7. Knowledge of CPT/HCPC's/Rev/ICD-10 codes and their applications

8. Must be able to achieve within one's first 6 months of employment a working competency in the use of the Center's electronic medical record (EMR)

9. Organizational and customer service skills/experience

10. Strong oral and written communication skills in all circumstances, particularly in telephone transactions

11. Strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse publics and other departments within the Bert Nash community

12. Able to work Monday through Friday as scheduled

13. Accuracy with ten key function

14. A commitment to interdisciplinary and community mental health center approaches

15. An energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex work place

16. Must be able to sit for a full 8 to 9 hours per day allowing 2 breaks of 15 minutes and one 60-minute lunch hour

17. Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions of continuous data entry for 8 to 9 hours per day
