Pay is commensurate on experience within a range of $28.00 to $40.00 per hour.  Full time, non-exempt, benefits eligible. A. Responsibilities and Duties: The primary responsibility of a Crisis Therapist is to serve the community by working at the Treatment and Recovery Center (TRC) and those who come in experiencing a mental health emergency through comprehensive crisis and risk assessments, interventions, and coordination of care to adult, children, and adolescents. The Crisis Therapist will provide mental health services based on the application of clinical social work and/or clinical psychology theory and principles. Specific duties include:

1.  The TRC is a 24/7 crisis and stabilization facility and therefore shifts vary. Currently looking for days, overnights, and weekends. Employee works 3-12 hour shifts.

2.  Provide crisis counseling and determine, as a matter of course, whether the client would be appropriate for a clinical intake, referral, and/or community resource as an alternative to hospitalization.

3.  Conduct all Reform Hospital Assessments.

4.  Providing services related to court evaluations and testimony, and consultation and education activities;

5.  Complete all paperwork and data entry associated with the assessment and any other clinical work with the client in a timely and accurate manner; All information in compliance with Joint Commission and CCBHC standards of care.

6.  Conduct brief phone interactions to determine level of need for incoming patients.

7.  Completing intake assessments, diagnosing/treatment plans and making appropriate referrals as indicated;

8.  Provide referrals and/or schedule intake appointments as appropriate.

9.  Providing services with the goal of collaboration and coordination with other community service providers

10.  Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job;

11.  Comfort with the pace of crisis-related work and emergency room care.

12.  Completing additional responsibilities that may be assigned as circumstances warrant;

C. Qualifications:

1.  graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus a master's degree from an accredited school of social work, psychology, or nursing.

2.  a minimum of two years' experience in a mental health outpatient setting(or similar setting) providing screening, psychiatric evaluation, crisis/emergency services and diagnoses

3.  a commitment to a community-based mental health services delivery model.

4.  Licensure from the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board in Kansas;

5.  excellent diagnostic, crisis intervention and brief psychotherapy skills;

6.  prior computer experience and basic computer fluency.

7.  reliable transportation and a valid, unrestricted driver's license

8.  must be able to achieve within one's first 6 months of employment a working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic medical record software as demonstrated by timely and accurate documentation of the clinical record;

9.  an ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;

10.  strong oral and written communication skills plus strong organizational skills;

11.  strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse populations.

12.  an energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex workplace.

13.  comfortable working with and delivering services through tele-video.

TRC requires the following must be completed prior to start of employment:

  1. Pre-employment drug screening required
  2. Proof of Covid-19 immunization
  3. Proof of flu immunization
  4. Proof of TB screening prior to starting any position
