Salary is commensurate with experience within a range of $58,000 - $100,000 annually.  This position is full-time exempt and eligible for our benefits. A.  Responsibilities and Duties:

The primary responsibility of the Intensive Outpatient/Dialectical Behavior Licensed Therapist will be to provide a wide range of mental health services for clients in need of comprehensive, intensive and/or acute mental health treatment.  The primary intervention method used will be Dialectical Behavior Therapy adapted specifically for this population and level of care. Training and on-going supervision in this methodology will be provided.  Therapy services will be provided in the office and home environment.  Specific duties include:

1)  Providing psychotherapy that includes goal oriented, and empirically based models for individual, group, family, and couples in the office and in home or community settings with an emphasis on intensive, acute-need and crisis stabilization services;

2)  Providing services with the goal of collaboration and coordination with family and community service providers;

3)  Providing services related to court evaluations and testimony, and  consultation and education activities;

4)  Completing systematic assessments that include a thorough evaluation of psych-social, diagnostic, strengths and liabilities of the client and assisting in accessing resources available to the client in the community.  The evaluation will include a collaborative process with the client and/or family in setting realistic goals and objectives for the process utilizing best practice standards of care.

5)  Implementing intervention techniques that are based on continual evaluation of treatment goals and focus of the process.  Goals for treatment will be written in measurable and objective language to monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes.

6)  Assisting in the on-going development and evolution of an effective acute services program including developing group and individual interventions that are consistent with the Dialectical Behavior Therapy model used in Bert Nash Center intensive outpatient program.

7)  Participating in BNC training, supervision, consultation, and research activities, to assure that interventions are being delivered according to established standards of care and specific therapy protocol guidelines with clearly measurable outcomes;

8)  Participating in DBT coaching call protocol as assigned;

9)  Providing clinical supervision and training activities as requested;

10)  Participating in public information and public relations activities, and to serve as a community liaison and advocate for mental health and the Bert Nash Center

11) Delivering reimbursable hours of service compliant with established BNC standards;

12) Completing all paperwork associated with the financial, clinical, legal, or 

regulatory management of the case or the Center's operations in a timely and  accurate manner. 

13) Working closely as a team member of the Adult Services department to coordinate all treatment programs within the department.  In addition, working collaboratively with other departments within the Bert Nash CMHC to ensure comprehensive and responsible care of clients and positive staff working environment.

14) Assisting with the evolution of an effective, efficient delivery of services and assuring strong client satisfaction of program and services;

15) Completing additional responsibilities as assigned.

16) Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

B.  Accountability:  The Licensed Therapist will be directly accountable to the IOP/DBT Team Leader or his or her designee.  The IOP/DBT Team Leader or his/her designee will, no less than annually, complete a performance evaluation in compliance with personnel policies. Position Description

C.  Qualifications

1)  Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus a master's degree from an accredited school;

2)  Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Kansas, Licensed PhD Psychologist by the Behavioral Sciences Board in Kansas, Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or other Kansas licensed behavioral health provider who is in the process of attaining clinical licensure (LMSW, LMLP, LPC) with previous education and/or experience providing DBT.   

3)  A commitment to the principles of partnering with family and community  resources.

4)  Established experience in providing mental health services utilizing empirically supported methods such as: cognitive-behavioral and/or mindfulness based treatments, and other theory based treatment models;

5)  Commitment to developing cultural diversity in the workplace and in service  delivery;

6)  Knowledge of and ability to evaluate and apply research findings as applicable for treatment

7)  Strong evaluation, assessment and diagnostic skills

8)  Knowledge of and skill to provide intervention techniques utilizing proven treatment models and modalities;

9)  Desire and commitment to learn Dialectical Behavior Therapy and

willingness to focus primarily on DBT as an intervention model and to engage in on-going training and supervision in this process.

10)  Prior computer experience and basic computer fluency;

11)  Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;

12)  Strong organizational skills;   

13)  Strong oral and written communication skills

14)  Strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse populations;

15)  Flexibility in assigned working hours, and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required

16)  A commitment to interdisciplinary and community mental health center  approaches;

17)  A commitment to following all legal and ethical guidelines and standard of the profession and the Center.

  19) Must be able to achieve within one's first 6 months of employment a   working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic   medical records (EMR) software as demonstrated by timely and accurate   documentation of the clinical record.
