Pay is based on experience and education, starting at $60,000 annually. This is a full-time, hourly, exempt and benefit-eligible position.  Bert Nash offers excellent benefits which include medical, dental, vision, KPERS retirement, life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing free counseling and resources, and generous PTO.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Child and Family Services (CFS) Therapist is to meet the mental health needs of children and families in Douglas County by providing outcome based therapy interventions at the Center. 

Some specific duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting systematic assessments, developing a diagnoses and analyses of symptoms within the ecological contexts, and formulating treatment plans for change with the families or guardians;
  • Working to identify and overcome barriers to treatment when possible and delivering services in the home, school, and community when appropriate;
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that target the changes needed utilizing measurable outcomes;
  • Participating in BNC training, supervision, consultation, and research activities, to assure that interventions are being delivered according to established standards of care with clearly measurable outcomes;
  • Working closely as a member of the Child and Family Services program and coordinating intervention activities with all providers, school personnel and other community agencies;
  • Providing clinical supervision and training activities, if and when appropriate;
  • Completing intake assessments;
  • Delivering reimbursable hours of service compliant with established BNC standards; and
  • Completing all paperwork associated with the financial, clinical, legal or regulatory management of the case, or of BNC's operations, in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

Including but not limited to:

  • Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, a Master of Arts degree, or a doctorate degree in clinical psychology;
  • Appropriate licensure or ability to be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Board in Kansas; 
  • A commitment to following all legal and ethical guidelines and standards of the profession and of The Bert Nash Center;
  • A commitment to developing cultural diversity in the workplace and in service delivery;
  • Reliable transportation and a valid, unrestricted driver's license;
  • Flexibility in assigned work hours;
  • An ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;
  • Strong oral and written communications skills; and
  • Must be able to achieve within one's first 6 months of employment a working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic medical records (EMR) software as demonstrated by timely and accurate documentation in the clinical record.
Bert Nash Center requires proof of Covid-19 immunization prior to starting any position. Covid-19 vaccine series must be completed or in process to be cleared for new hire orientation.
