Student Intern Volunteer

This position is an unpaid internship.  Non-exempt, non benefits eligible.

A. Responsibilities and Duties: The primary responsibility of the Student Intern will be to assist the AOP team in the provision of mental health services. Specific duties include:

1. Providing services with the goal of collaboration and coordination with other community service providers

2. Completing clinical intake assessments and making appropriate referrals

3. Delivering reimbursable hours of service compliant with established standards

4. Completing all documentation associated with the financial, clinical, legal, or regulatory management of the case or the Center's operations in a timely and accurate manner

5. Assisting with the evolution of an effective, efficient program of services

6. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances warrant.

B. Accountability: The AOP Student will be directly accountable to the AOP Program Manager or his/her designee. The AOP Program Manager or his/her designee will complete periodic assessments as requested by the sponsoring agency and as may be needed by the BNC during the student's placement with the BNC.

C. Qualifications: The AOP Student position requires:

1. Current attendance at an accredited four-year college or university;

2. Prior computer experience and basic computer fluency;

3. Reliable transportation;

4. An ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;

5. Strong organizational skills;

6. Strong oral and written communication skills;

7. Strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse publics;

8. Flexibility in assigned working hours;

9. A commitment to interdisciplinary and community mental health center approaches;

10. An energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex work place.

Bert Nash Center requires proof of Covid-19 immunization prior to starting any position. Covid-19 vaccine series must be completed or in process to be cleared for new hire orientation.
