Nurse Manager - TRC (NIGHT)

Salary is commensurate with experience within a range of $74,000 - $93,000 annually. This position is full-time, salaried, exempt, and eligible for our benefits. Job Summary:

The Nursing Manager manages and collaborates activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing and Behavioral Health Specialist staff during overnight hours in a 24/7 facility.


II. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provides a high level of professional and clinical leadership, demonstrating clinical competence and expertise.
  2. Provides support and supervision to front-line staff in order to assist them in their role.
  3. Maintains clinical skills and performs patient care as needed.
  4. Embodies the vision, mission, and values of the organization with staff.
  5. Models service excellence skills and actively holds others accountable to a patient focused environment.
  6. Motivates staff to strive for professional excellence.
  7. Oversees day to day unit-based operations.
  8. Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services.
  9. Responsible for staff schedules and daily staffing concerns, including provision of nursing coverage should staffing demand the need.
  10. Conducts daily rounding on units, evaluating patient experience and identifying opportunities for staff recognition and improvement.
  11. Participates in identifying, developing and delivery of education, training, and personal/professional development for clinical staff.
  12. Provides feedback, guidance and leadership - from orientation to ongoing informal and formal teaching sessions - to clinical staff including at least monthly face to face supervisions to all supervised staff.
  13. Ensures staff competencies are evaluated and appropriate training is provided.
  14. Monitors patient care to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  15. Reviews patient records to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the care provided by the unit. (chart audits)
  16. Assists the Director with reviewing and documenting event reports, and performing staff follow-up.
  17. Collaborates with the Director in the review/selection, coaching and counseling processes.
  18. Collaborates with the Director on leading staff performance standards and administration of annual performance reviews.
  19. Collaborates with the Director to monitor and adhere to budget; approves or monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions within specified parameters.
  20. Participates in the evaluation of outcomes of clinical, financial and human resource measures that provide direction for care or service and facilitates process improvement.
  21. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
  22. Able to provide coverage on the units as needed in order to ensure that facility function is maintained between the hours of 8pm-8am, 7 days per week. Flexing work schedule to meet needs of the unit is expected, however, presence is expected in the facility 5 days a week.

III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

  • Current Kansas Registered nursing License
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Five (5) total years experience to include three (3) years nursing experience in psychiatric/substance use and two (2) years leadership experience
  • Current Basic Life Support affirmation

The following must be completed prior to start of employment:

  • Pre-employment drug screening required.
  • Proof of Covid-19 immunization
  • Proof of flu immunization
  • Proof of TB screening prior to starting any position.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Specialty certification/credential
