Chief Financial Officer

Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $137,000 to $150,000 annually. Full time, exempt, benefits eligible. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Team and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the financial operations of the Center. The CFO ensures the financial health and sustainability of the organization by aligning resources with its mission, vision, and strategic pillars-Service, Quality, People, Finance, and Growth.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Direct and oversee all financial activities of the Center, including accounting, budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial data to assess programmatic contribution margins and costs, supporting data-informed decision-making across departments.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure organizational sustainability and growth, including long-term strategies for strengthening cash reserves.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as bankers, auditors, insurance representatives, and consultants.
  • Present accurate and timely financial reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Team on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with CARF, CCBHC, and state/federal fiscal requirements, as well as all applicable nonprofit financial standards.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and other executives to coordinate financial planning and establish priorities aligned with the Center's strategic goals.
  • Lead the annual budget process and oversee the creation of internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications: 

Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
    • Minimum five years of progressive financial leadership experience in nonprofit or healthcare settings.
    • Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal management, and financial reporting.
    • Ability to achieve working competency in the Center's EMR and related financial systems within six months.
    • Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Preferred

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
    • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of CCBHC financial reporting and grant compliance requirements.
    • Experience working with behavioral health or healthcare organizations.
