Pay is commensurate with experience beginning at $70,000 annually. Full time, exempt, benefits eligible. The Behavioral Health Specialist Manager over sees the delivery, coordination and quality of behavioral health services within the TRC. This position will be directly supervised by the Director of Nursing and will be part of the TRC Leadership Team. This role involves a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours. Typical hours may fall outside of standard business hours to best support the needs of the program and the individuals we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
- Provides a high level of professional clinical leadership, demonstrating clinical competence and expertise.
- Provides direct supervision, mentorship and guidance to Behavioral Health Specialists on the units.
- Maintains clinical skills and performs patient care at the bedside as needed.
- Embodies the vision, mission, and values of the unit with staff.
- Models service excellence skills and actively holds others accountable to a patient-focused environment.
- Assists the TRC Director of Nursing with reviewing and documenting incident reports, and performing staff follow-up.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS include but not limited to:
Required:
- 1-3 years of leadership experience.
- 1 year of college course work in the field of human services or one year of experience in the field of human services; or other experiences with individuals across the lifespan who experience symptoms associated with behavioral health diagnoses and can serve as a basis for understanding symptoms and treatment.
- A combination of at least one year of education, and/or work, and/or experience in the field of human services can substitute for a year in any one area.
- Reliable transportation and valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Prior computer experience and basic computer fluency; willingness and ability to learn new programs. Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
Preferred:
- 3 years of experience as a behavioral health specialist or similar role.
- 4-5 years of experience in a leadership role.
The following must be completed prior to start of employment:
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Proof of flu vaccination (if hired during flu season)
- Proof of TB screening
- Successful completion of physical and mental job requirements screening as required by KDADS
